Successful Verification

FBG Jagdberg's climate protection project was successfully verified using the ISO-certified SILVACONSULT Carbon Standard® method. The credits from the verified sink performance for 2022 are now available for sale. The profits are to be used to significantly optimize multifunctional forest conservation and management.

Forest Audit at FBG Jagdberg

In spring 2023, the project was assessed by TÜV Austria as part of a one-day audit. The sustainable possibilities of the forest were discussed between the forester, TÜV Austria and Tree.ly on the sites.

Feasibility Study finalised

The project options for the FBG Jagdberg forest were determined as part of a feasibility study. The FBG Jagdberg decided in favour of a stock conservation project for at least 30 years during which carbon is actively conserved in the forest.

The members of the FBG Jagdberg are the agricultural communities of Bludesch, Dünserberg, Röns, Schnifis, Schnifisberg, Thüringen and the municipalities of Bludesch, Bürserberg, Düns, Satteins, Schlins and Schnifis. By intensifying the sustainable and near-natural management of the often overaged forests, the protected forest areas in particular are being restored and stabilised for future generations.

Conversion of forest stands that are not adapted to their location

The forest stands that do not correspond to the current climate change are being actively reorganised using forward-looking methods. Particular attention is paid to the selection of suitable tree species with the aim of creating stable, resilient and sustainable mixed forests.

The protection forests in particular play a special role at FBG Jagdberg, as they are of great public interest. The aim here is to rejuvenate the overaged forest stands with suitable and site-adapted tree species and to ensure long-term stability.

Due to the ongoing climate change, there is a change in forest communities. This means that more thermophilic and drought-tolerant tree species are replacing the less well-adapted species. Life on land

The FBG Jagdberg has decided to plan so-called stepping stone biotopes at ecologically particularly valuable locations. These are subsequently taken out of use, scientifically assessed and analysed. In addition, the FBG Jagdberg attaches great importance to the preservation of deadwood, breeding cavity trees and veteran trees. A large number of these ecologically valuable trees have been mapped and marked.

In cooperation with our partner, we organize the validation of our projects by an external certifier such as TÜV Austria. We then coordinate the annual monitoring by the certifier as well as the marketing and distribution of the verified climate protection services (VER).
